Workshop facilitators:

Vince Seah (Founder of DFC) & Simon Kang (teacher and UK music graduate)

are both part of DFC, a drum community from Kuala Lumpur. DFC is a collaboration between a group of friends and drum enthusiasts who often get together to share about and play drums. Both Vince and Simon share a common passion: to educate and encourage the next generation of drummers. They have performed in various countries such as Singapore, Indonesia, Korea, Sri Lanka and Laos. They have traveled extensively within Malaysia and they specialize in concerts and event launches.

Wong Siao Ern is a Jazz and Contemporary pianist from Melaka. She has performed in the International Music Colloquium (2012) and National Music Youth Camp (2011), both held in UPM. Currently, she is pursuing her degree in Music Performance. She is influenced and
inspired by traditional as well as experimental and ethnic fusion Jazz.

Jazz Night is a night of elegantly placed piano notes, anchored by deep bass, and swung by a groovy set of drums. A smooth voice floating in the air like mist in the morning. Join in the groove! Here is our newest event! We are organizing Jazz Piano Improvisation Workshop to provide learning opportunities for the young ones who are interested in Jazz and its art - improvisation!

WONG SIAO ERN

She is a Jazz and Contemporary Pianist. She is learning Jazz from Dr. Chan Cheong Jan, Senior Lecturer of Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) and Mr. Tay Cher Siang, a prominent Jazz pianist in Malaysia. She has performed in the International Music Colloquium (2012) and National Youth Music Camp (2011), both held in UPM. She is currently pursuing her degree in Music Performance in UPM. Siao Ern believes beautiful things can be happened when people are empowered to discover the joy and freedom in playing music.
